For years, eye problems have plagued society, yet did you know that it is possible to avoid many of these ailments and problems by simply taking time to stop and hear what the eyes are saying to you.
Eye strain is probably the best measure of whether your eyes are being damaged or not. If you have tense and strained eyes, you are probably damaging them. Most people would not continue to strain the muscles in the arm if they are hurting, and would take a break to let the muscles rest. The same is necessary for the eyes. By following some simple precautions and techniques, it is possible to safeguard your eyes and have better eyesight without glasses.
There are many small muscles in the eyes that serve to lengthen or shorten the lens in order to focus your vision. Consider your eyes now. Are you straining the eyes to read these words. Do you have to stare hard at each word or do your eyes flow evenly? Are you frowning, smiling or concentrating really hard to read? If you are having trouble reading the page, it is time to relax those eyes, and the sooner you start the better.
Vision is also affected by negative thoughts. If you are spending your time on happy pleasant thoughts, your eyes will be more relaxed, have better focus and be able to make smoother eye movements. Negative thoughts often cause the muscles, including those in the eyes to become tense. These strained eyes begin staring and have jerky movements that can result in the eyes hurting.
Your eyes never lie to you. If you feel tension behind the eyes, you are being told to take some time to relax. Similarly, headaches behind or near the eyes are a sign of eye strain and that you should relax.
Before you complain that you do not have enough time for relaxing, realize that in 15-20 minutes, the eyes can be relaxed. Taking time to relax can help with natural vision correction for years to come, but straining and staring can make the vision even worse.
After a long work day, tired eyes need time to relax in order to renew the vision. Constant eye strain every day will harm the eyes. The following three exercises can help to remove any eye strain.
First, begin with the dot exercise. Locate a comma or period on the page and focus on it until it becomes very clear. Continue staring at the period until the eyes focus on it. After a few seconds the period may seem to go out of focus, becoming blurry and less clear.
Now try to relax the eyes. Close the eyelids for a few minutes to allow the eyes to relax. Look again at the period, but do not strain. Instead, allow the eyes to move slowly over the page, in and around the period. Try not to focus only on the dot, but let the eyes move. Take time to blink. Close the eyes and picture the period before looking at it again. Once you have relaxed you eyes, you should have an easier time seeing the dot.
Exercise two is a word exercise. Locate a word on the page of five or more letters. Start staring at the word to view all the letters without moving the eyes. Be sure to focus on the entire word in order to bring the image into the head. As you concentrate and stare the word should blur.
Try relaxing the eyes so they can wander slowly around, over and across each letter forming the word. Take time to blink. Let you eyes lead. Do not force them to look at areas where they do not want to look. Words should have cleared up when you look back at them.
The final exercise (eye exercise number three) involved double vision. The purpose is to allow the eyes to work as a set, together. Many people will look at objects using only one eye, allowing the other to do whatever it wants. Squinting may bring the item into focus using both the eyes, but can also cause stress. Try to relax the eyes and focus calmly allowing the eyes to focus together as a team.
Use of these exercise for relaxing your eyes allow the person to develop habits the ensure natural vision correction so that you will see well for many years to come.
